Obituary of William H. Connor

William H. Connor, 87, a resident of Saratoga Springs and Ruskin, Florida, died unexpectedly Saturday, January 16, 2010 in Saratoga Springs. Born November 4, 1922 in Mechanicville, he was the son of Harry D. Connor and Edith May Hadley Connor. Mr. Connor served with the United States Army during World War II and had been employed as Supervising Operator of the water plant in Saratoga Springs for over 20 years. He was an avid outdoorsman and enjoyed hunting and fishing. He was a member of the Eagles and Moose Club in Florida. In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by his wife Loretta Connor;1 daughter Kathleen Howser; sisters, Jean Roy and Ruth Francis; and granddaughter, Christina Green. Survivors include his children, Daniel Connor of of Goshen, NY; David Connor of Northumberland, James O’Connell of Malta William O’Connell of Sacandaga, Maureen Webb of Burlington, VT, Kathleen Murphy of New Fairfield, CT, Eileen Coffey of Delmar, Frances Hope of East Greenbush, and Sharon Rodrigue of Ballston Spa; 1 sister, May Sapko of Mechanicville; 21 grandchildren, 18 great grandchildren, and several nieces and nephews. A funeral service will be conducted at 6pm Tuesday, January 19, 2010 at Flynn Bros., Inc. Funeral Home, 13 Gates Ave., Schuylerville, NY with Rev. John Kettlewell, officiating. Interment will be at 1pm Wednesday in the Gerald B.H. Solomon Saratoga National Cemetery in Schuylerville. Friends may call on Tuesday from 4-6pm prior to the service at the funeral home. The family suggests memorials in his name be made to the American Cancer Society.
