Obituary of Robin Ann Williams
Schuylerville â Robin Ann (Boyce) Williams, 54, resident of Castlewood Drive, Northumberland died at her home after a brief battle with cancer. She was surrounded by her loving husband, Donald M. Williams and family. Born August 29, 1955 at Saratoga Hospital, Robin was the daughter of Edward S. Boyce and Catherine M. (Cherry) Boyce, both deceased. She was a lifelong resident of the area. Mrs. Williams graduated from Schuylerville Central School in 1973 and went on to earn a Bachelor of Arts in Sociology from the State University of New York - Plattsburgh in 1977. After graduating, Robin worked at St. Anneâs Institute in Albany and then in 1984, she began employment with Saratoga County. During her 25 year tenure, she served the county as a social welfare examiner, case worker, Maplewood Manor social worker assistant, and most recently as probation officer. Robin also worked summers at The Farmerâs Daughter and PJâs Bar-B-Q. Robin enjoyed dining out with her many friends and family at local restaurants such as the Mexican Connection, PJâs Bar-B-Q and the Coffee Planet. She also enjoyed casinos, reading and traveling, especially to Aruba. Robin enjoyed playing in local softball, tennis and bowling leagues. She was part of an over 50âs softball team, The Capitals, and received several metals. Robin was a devoted wife, step-mother, grandmother, daughter, sister, aunt, God mother and friend. She was especially proud of her work with children and the belief that she could change the world one person at a time. She helped countless people change their lives. Everyone who knew Robin shared a special bond with her, leaving us all with many wonderful memories. Besides Robinâs loving husband, survivors include two stepsons, Ryon (Taryne) Williams of Bechtelsville, PA, Keith Williams of Wilkesville, NC; a granddaughter Reagan Sophia Williams; three brothers, Thomas (Mina) Boyce of Glens Falls, Timothy (Holly) Boyce of Schuylerville, and Michael Boyce of Saratoga Springs; two sisters Jodi (Mark) Schlake of Fayetteville, NC and Colleen (Bob) Trossbach of Schuylerville; god-mother and aunt, Lillian (Don) Hathaway of Ballston Spa; brother-in-law Herb Williams of Troy; 9 nieces and nephews, 6 great- nieces and nephews, several godchildren; and an extended family of close friends. A funeral service will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Monday, February 22, 2010 at the Bacon Hill Reformed Church, 560 Route 32 N. Schuylerville, NY with The Rev. Jan Vincent officiating. Burial will follow at 12 noon at the Gerald B.H. Solomon Saratoga National Cemetery, Duell Road in Schuylerville. Friends may call from 1 to 4 p.m. on Sunday February 21, 2010 at Flynn Bros. Inc. Funeral Home, 13 Gates Ave., Schuylerville. Memorials can be made in her name to Bacon Hill Reformed Church.
