Obituary of Judith Ann Niesz

Judith Ann (Becker) Niesz, 63, died Saturday March 6, 2010, at Glens Falls Hospital, with her family by her side. Judy was born May 9, 1946 in Glens Falls, NY the daughter of Ira and Vera (Priestley) Becker. She graduated from Greenwich High School in 1964 then moved to Syracuse where she married and raised two children, George C. Niesz of Greenwich and Mary Christine Niesz of Glens Falls, formally of Liverpool, NY. She resided in Liverpool for the remainder of her years. Along her journey, Judy was active in politics and worked for the Town of Clay as a Court Clerk. Those who knew her well remember her passion for Syracuse University Athletics, The Buffalo Bills, and the New York Yankees. She enjoyed rollerblading at Onondaga Lake Park, gardening, cooking, and baking holiday treats for her family and closest friends. Judy is survived by her mother, Vera P. Becker of Saratoga Springs, a son, George C. Niesz and his wife Maureen of Greenwich, a daughter, Mary Christine Niesz of Glens Falls, a sister in law, Sarah Becker of Greenwich, a niece, Kate Becker of Greenwich, 3 grandchildren Colm, Liam, and Norah Niesz all of Greenwich, several aunts, uncles and cousins. Judy was predeceased by her father Ira and her brother William. Calling hours will be held 6-8 pm Wednesday, March 10th at Flynn Bros., Inc. Funeral Home, 80 Main St., Greenwich, NY. A private family service will be held in later spring where she will be laid to rest in the family plot in Greenwich Cemetery. Condolences can be sent to 16 Ridge Street, Glens Falls, New York 12801.
