Obituary of George L. Priest

George L. Priest, 86, a resident of Fishkill Trailer Park inVictory Mills, died unexpectedly Saturday, March 6, 2010 at Albany Medical Center. Born November 2, 1923 in Salem, NY he was the son of the late James and Bertha Harrington Priest. George served with the US Army during WWII and was a member of Old Saratoga Post #278 in Schuylerville. He had been a meat cutter for over 70 years, working at various markets including Al Bouchard’s, Sulli’s, Byron’s, Hannaford and Price Chopper. In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by his wife Naomi Gagne Priest; brothers, James, Julian, Donald and Gordon Priest; and a sister, Mary Priest. Survivors include 2 sons, George of Wisconsin and Tracy of Ballston Spa; several step-children, nieces and nephews; a brother, Larry Priest of Mississippi; and a sister, Elaine Doyle of Arizona.. A funeral service will be held at 1pm Friday, March 12, 2010 at Flynn Bros. Inc. Funeral Home, 13 Gates Ave., Schuylerville with Rev. Virginia Cornell, officiating. Interment will follow at 2pm in the Gerald B.H. Solomon Saratoga National Cemetery. Friends may call on Friday from 12-1pm prior to the service.
