Obituary of Carole Anne McMurray

Carole Anne McMurray passed away Monday, March 15, 2010 at her Washington Street home. Born December 29, 1938 in Cambridge, NY she was the daughter of the late Martin and Maude Gilchrist Corcoran. Carole had been a teller at the Home & City Bank (Trustco) in Greenwich for many years. She served as an Election Inspector in Greenwich, was a communicant of St. Joseph’s Church, and was a member of the BPOE Auxiliary in Greenwich. In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by her husband LeRoy “Pete” McMurray and 4 sisters, Kathryn Beasley, Doris Cusack, Helen Phillips, and Frances Caezza. Survivors include her children, Suzanne McMurray, Sandra Gomez, Sharon McMurray, and Michael McMurray (Christine); 5 grandchildren, Michelle McMurray, Michael and Patrick DiStaso, Kate and Grace McMurray; 4 great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. A funeral mass will be celebrated at 10am Friday, March 19, 2010 at St. Joseph’s Church in Greenwich with Rev. Martin Fisher, officiating. Interment will follow in St. Joseph’s Cemetery, Greenwich. Friends may call on Thursday from 5-7pm at Flynn Bros. Inc. Funeral Home, 80 Main St., Greenwich. Memorials can be made in her memory to the American Red Cross or the American Cancer Society.
