Obituary of Christopher J. McCormick

Christopher J. McCormick, 45, a resident of Church St.,Greenwich, died Thursday, April 22, 2010 at Saratoga Hospital. Born November 7, 1964 in Cambridge, NY he was the son of the late John and Lucienne Ackley McCormick. Chris was a graduate of Greenwich Central School and was recently honored as Alumni of the Month for the month of April. He attended Northeastern College in Boston. He served as Mayor of the Village of Greenwich from 1994-2008. Chris was Transportation Supervisor at The Fort Miller Company for 14 years and had also been Director of Transportation for the Greenwich Central School District. He served as a volunteer for the Greenwich Little League, Youth Soccer, and Youth Football for many years. He was an avid Red Sox fan and was also a communicant of St. Joseph’s Church in Greenwich. Survivors include his loving wife, Susan Bulger McCormick of Greenwich; his children, Patrick, Collin and Quinn McCormick of Greenwich; 3 sisters, Lucienne (George) Walker of Saratoga Springs, Patricia (Ken) Fleming of Melrose, and Frances Cronin of Greenwich; 1 brother, Shawn (Denise) McCormick of Greenwich; father-in-law, Gerald Bulger of Greenwich; brother-in-law, Timothy (Cindy) Bulger of Greenwich; 2 sisters-in-law, Patricia (Bill) Campito of Clifton Park and Connie (Jeff) Gangel of Smithtown, NY; several nieces and nephews and many friends. A funeral mass will be celebrated at 9am Monday, April 26, 2010 at St. Joseph’s Church in Greenwich with Rev. Martin Fisher, officiating. Burial will follow in St. Joseph’s Cemetery. Friends may call on Sunday from 2-5pm at Flynn Bros. Inc. Funeral Home, 80 Main St., Greenwich. Memorials can be made in his memory to the McCormick Family Benefit, c/o VFW Men’s Auxiliary in Greenwich.
