Obituary of Leo Richard Pechette

Leo Richard Pechette, 91, a lifelong Schuylerville resident died Tuesday, May 04, 2010 at Wesley Health Care Center in Saratoga Springs. Born January 5, 1919 in Schuylerville, he was the son of the late Gilbert and Maude Legacy Pechette. Mr. Pechette was a US Army Veteran of WWII where he had served in the South Pacific area. He owned and operated Dick’s Lawnmower and Bicycle Shop on Broad St. in Schuylerville for many years. He was a communicant and Eucharistic Minister at Notre Dame-Visitation Church, was a member of Old Saratoga Post #278 American Legion, and the Old Saratoga Seniors in Schuylerville. He enjoyed gardening, hunting and fishing. In addition to his parents he was predeceased by 4 brothers and 1 sister. Survivors include his loving wife of 64 years, Beatrice Wilson Pechette of Schuylerville; 1 son, Dr. Douglas Pechette and daughter-in-law Jane Pechette of Evergreen, CO; 2 special nieces that were like daughters, Debbie Puckett and her son Brian Puckett who was like a grandson, and Darlene Bolduc; her sister-in-law, Marjorie Pechette; and several nieces and nephews. A funeral mass will be celebrated at 1pm Friday, May 7, 2010 at Notre Dame-Visitation Church with Rev. Martin Fisher, officiating. Burial will follow at 2:30pm at the Gerald B.H. Solomon Saratoga National Cemetery. Friends may call on Thursday, May 6, 2010 from 3-5pm at Flynn Bros. Inc. Funeral Home, 13 Gates Ave., Schuylerville.
