Obituary of Shirley L. Mattison

Shirley L. Mattison, a lifelong resident of Greenwich, passed away Monday, March 30, 2015 surrounded by her loving family at the Washington Center in Argyle. Born May 2, 1933 in East Greenwich, she was the daughter of the late J.C. Golden and Sara Wadsworth Greaves Hollis. Shirley was a past member of the Centenary United Methodist Church and the Middle Falls Fire Department Ladies Auxiliary. She was a former employee of the Korell Corp and Cowan Nursing Home, both in Greenwich. Shirley took great pride in raising her 7 children and was a devoted loving wife. In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by her husband, Don C. Mattison; her son, Donald William Mattison; brothers, John W. Greaves, and Rev. William F. Hollis Jr., and sister, Eleanor Jendek. Survivors include her loving children, Dennis Mattison, David Mattison, Shirley (Ronald) Dewey, Timothy Mattison, Stanley (Sandy) Mattison, and Michael (Kate) Mattison; daughter-in-law Chris Mattison; 14 grandchildren and 12 great grandchildren and special niece Stacy (George) Thomas . A funeral service will be held at 4 pm Friday, April 3, 2015 at Flynn Bros. Inc. Funeral Home, 80 Main St, Greenwich, NY, 12834 with Rev. Mickey McFarren, officiating. Spring burial will be in the Greenwich Cemetery. Friends may call from 2-4 Friday, April 3, 2015 prior to the service.
