Obituary of Catharine H. Crozier

Catharine H. Crozier, 98, passed away peacefully at The Glen in Queensbury on Friday, May 15, 2015. Catharine was born at her family farm in Greenwich on December 19, 1916. She graduated from Greenwich High School in 1933 and from Plattsburgh Normal School in 1936. Her first teaching job was in District 15 in Cossayuna for 7 years. She taught first grade at Schuylerville Central School for 20 years. She married Samuel Crozier, Jr. on November 20, 1940 and resided in North Greenwich before moving to Queensbury in 1988. She was a member of the United Church of Greenwich and the First Presbyterian Church in Glens Falls. She belonged to the 20th century club and was a member of the friends of the Greenwich library. In addition to her parents she was predeceased by her husband Samuel and her brother Larry Hay. She is survived by her daughters Luanne (Allan) Erickson of Columbia, MD and Peggy (Robert) Ploss of Kingston, NY; 5 grandchildren, Juliette Erickson of Aberdeen, WA; Nicole Erickson of Vatterstetten, Germany; Jill Erickson of Odenton, MD; R. Jeffrey Ploss of Orlando, FL; and Heather Crowley of Collierville, TN as well as 12 great grandchildren. A memorial service will be held at 3 PM Thursday, May 21, 2015 at The Glen, 39 Longview Dr, Queensbury, NY, 12804. Burial will be private at the convenience of the family.
