Obituary of Andrew Macica

Andrew F. Macica, 92, a lifelong resident of Schuylerville, passed away Saturday, May 16, 2015 at Washington Center surrounded by his family. Born August 21, 1922 in Saratoga Springs, he was the son of the late Stephen and Theresa Santner Macica. Mr. Macica was a US Army Veteran having served in the Philippines during WWII. He was a carpenter and had been involved with building several local infrastructures, including BOCES in Saratoga and several residential homes. He was an antique car enthusiast and had restored many vintage cars. He enjoyed spending time with his family, cooking, fishing and gardening. In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by a son, Kevin Macica; his wife, Kathleen Macica; sisters, Josephine and Frances; brothers, Sylvester and Louis; and his brother, Joseph Macica who died later the same day on May 16, 2015. Survivors include his children, Andrew (Christina) Macica of San Jose, CA, Gerardine (Tommy) Monzon of Westchester County, Stephen (Teresa) Macica of Truckee, CA, Martin (Kim) Macica of Schuylerville; and Lawrence Macica of Saratoga Springs; 8 grandchildren, Philip and Alexandria and their mother, Jennifer, Christopher (Jennifer), Amanda, Tommy (Candice) Ian, Josiah, and Ezra; 2 great grandchildren, Madison and Talya; a brother, Michael Macica and several nieces and nephews. A funeral mass will be celebrated at 11:30am Friday, May 22, 2015 at Notre Dame-Visitation Church for both he and his brother Joseph. A graveside service will follow in St. Mary's Cemetery, Schuylerville. Family and friends will then gather at the American Legion Post #278 on Clancy St., Schuylerville. Friends may call on Thursday from 3-7pm at Flynn Bros. Inc. Funeral Home, 13 Gates Ave., Schuylerville.
