Obituary of Thomas B. Pratt Sr.

Thomas B. Pratt Sr., 86, passed away peacefully Tuesday, June 2, 2015 surrounded by his family. Born August 17, 1928 in Victory Mills, NY he was the son of the late Clayton and Lillian Flint Pratt. He was born and raised in Victory Mills where he spent most of his life before moving to Murrells Inlet, SC in 2003. He and his wife Betty returned to Saratoga Springs in 2013. Tom attended Schuylerville School where he was a standout basketball player. He worked for United Board and Carton Corp. in Thompson for many years before going to work for the US Postal Service, serving the Village of Schuylerville until his retirement in 1990. He enjoyed gardening, playing horseshoes, playing pinochle, family clam steams and time spent with his family and friends. In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by his 4 brothers and sisters-in-law, Glenn (Alma) Pratt, Filmore (Elsie) Pratt, Robert (Ruth) Pratt and Vladimir (Margaret) Pratt. Survivors include his wife of 67 years, Elizabeth Warner Pratt; 2 sons, Thomas (Cheryl) Pratt Jr. of Mayfield and Timothy Pratt of Saratoga Springs; three daughters, Terry (Patrick) Bennett of Queensbury, Betty Lynne (Jim) Gillen of Saratoga Springs, and Susan Pratt of Queensbury; 11 grandchildren, Tom and Clayton Pratt, Rachel (Kyle) Dow, Jennifer (Matt) MacDonald, Sarah (Raymond) Lopez, Timothy (Carmen ) Pratt, Heather Tourtellot and her significant other John Walko, Sean and Ryan Gillen, and Evan and Colin Signor; 3 great granddaughters, 1 great grandson arriving in October, and several nieces and nephews. A funeral service will be held at 11am Saturday, June 6, 2015 at the Schuylerville United Methodist Church, 51 Church St., Schuylerville, with Pastor Al Johnson, officiating. Burial will follow in Prospect Hill Cemetery. Friends may call on Friday from 4-7pm at Flynn Bros. Inc. Funeral Home, 13 Gates Ave., Schuylerville.
