Obituary of Richard L. Lloyd

Richard "Dick" Lloyd: 9/1/1954 – 9/15/2015 Richard "Dick" Lloyd passed away unexpectedly in the early morning hours of September 15, 2015 surrounded by his family at St. Mary's Hospital in Troy. He was born in Baldwinsville, NY on September 1, 1954 to Hannah Miller Lloyd and Alfred Lloyd. He had 5 brothers and 1 sister who he loved dearly. Growing up, Dick was known for his theatrical nature, often found singing songs from the 1950's, and acting in local plays. After graduating from Schuylerville High School in 1973, he went to work for New York State at Wilton Developmental Center. In 1998 Dick went to work for Audio-Video Corporation as a service installer where he met his love, Karen and in 2010 they were married. He worked there until his retirement in 2015. He was a beloved father to his three daughters who he affectionately nicknamed Pete, George and Fred. Family was very important to him. Dick was known for his incredible kindness and sense of humor. Throughout his life he often took on the role of caretaker to whoever needed it at the time. He was a generous man, never putting his needs ahead of others. Dick loved helping others any way he could, bringing joy and laughter to every situation. Dick is predeceased by his parents Hannah and Alfred Lloyd, and brother, Jim Lloyd. He is survived by his wife Karen Lloyd, daughters Stacey Lloyd, Andrea Miele (Tony), Erin Lloyd (Marcus LaBombard), step son Joe Volpe (Carolyn Scanlon), granddaughters Elizabeth and Lyla Miele, brothers, Tom Lloyd, Jack Lloyd, Bob Lloyd (Barb), Mark Lloyd (Sheryl), sister, Sue Reynolds (Bill), great-aunt Elizabeth Lloyd, and several nieces and nephews. The family would like to thank the staff at St. Mary's Hospital in Troy for their tremendous care and compassion. Friends and family may call Saturday September 19, 2015 from 11 am – 2 pm at Flynn Bros. Inc. Funeral Home, 13 Gates Ave., Schuylerville.
