Obituary of Beverley J. Carr

Beverley J. Carr, 79, a resident of King Rd., passed away Friday, October 2, 2015 at the Stanton Nursing Home in Glens Falls. Born July 8, 1936 in Ballston Spa, NY she was the daughter of the late Horace E. and Edna Garrison Merchant. Beverley worked on the family farm with her late husband, Ralph Carr for many years. She had been employed by H & R Block, and then had been a self-employed tax preparer for over 40 years. She was a lifelong member of the Milton Grange, enjoyed doing puzzles, knitting and crocheting. In addition to her husband of 54 years, Ralph Carr, she was predeceased by an infant brother, Horace Merchant and brother, Robert Merchant. Survivors include her children, Edward J. (Colleen) Carr of Bacon Hill, Cynthia L. (Steven) Brock of Waddington, NY, Sally J. (William) Hanehan of Saratoga Springs, and Sandra E. (Bernard) Doescher of Wilton; 1 brother, Kenneth (Sharon) Merchant of Saratoga Springs; 2 sisters, Marilyn Perry of Saratoga Springs and Sandra Merchant of FL; 6 grandchildren, Jamie, Raymond, and Christopher Carr, Alex and Zach Brock, and Cassidy Doescher; and several nieces and nephews. A graveside service will be held at 1pm Tuesday, October 6, 2015 in the Gansevoort Cemetery, with Rev. Virginia Cornell, officiating. Friends may call on Monday from 6-8pm at Flynn Bros. Inc. Funeral Home, 13 Gates Ave., Schuylerville.
