Obituary of Edith E. Woodbury

Edith E. Woodbury, 88, a resident of Staffords Bridge Rd., passed away Tuesday, October 6, 2015 at Washington Center in Argyle. Born May 12, 1927 in Saratoga Springs, NY she was the daughter of the late Arthur and Inez Hayes. Mrs. Hayes and her late husband owned and operated the Fish Creek Marina in Saratoga Springs for many years. She was a member of the Quaker Springs United Methodist Church, and past member of the Old Saratoga Post # 278 American Legion Auxiliary, the VFW #420 Auxiliary, and the Aarie 2586 Saratoga Eagles Club. She enjoyed gardening, playing cards, and cooking. In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by her husband Charles Woodbury; and siblings, Howard, Harold, Walter, Donald and Robert Hayes, and Hazel Filkins. Survivors include her son, Ashley Woodbury of Saratoga Springs; sisters-in-law, Ruth Hayes and Marilyn Hayes; and several nieces and nephews. A graveside service will be held at 1pm Thursday, October 15, 2015 in the Prospect Hill Cemetery, Schuylerville with Pastor Al Johnson, officiating.
