Obituary of Jean H. Sifert

Jean Horsfield Sifert passed away at home in Schuylerville, NY on November 13, 2015 at the age of 71 due to medical complications from long term health issues. Born June 7, 1944 in Saratoga Springs, NY, she was the daughter of the late Thomas and Barbara Horsfield. Jean grew up in Saratoga Springs, NY and Victory Mills, NY and was a graduate of Schuylerville Central School. She worked at Espy Manufacturing & Electronics for several years after high school and volunteered in the library at Schuylerville Central School before deciding to devote her time as a full-time mother at home. She was a longtime member of Tri-County Mother of Twins Club, serving in several leadership positions over the years, and a member of Red Hat Society. She enjoyed quilting, getting together with her classmates, chatting on the phone with her friends, and spending time with her children and grandchildren to hear about their activities, travels, and acheivements. Survivors include her loving and devoted husband of 49 years, Roy V. Sifert of Schuylerville, NY; a brother, Roy (Sandy) Horsfield of Grangerville, NY; a sister, Sheila Horsfield of Schuylerville, NY; three sons, Robin (Julie) M. Sifert of Vestal, NY, Eric (Gina) L. Sifert of Westminster, MA, Brian M. Sifert of Schuylerville; a daughter, Brianne M. Sifert of Schuylerville; four grandchildren, Thomas and Andrew Sifert of Westminster, MA, and Joshua and Nicholas Sifert of Vestal, NY; and several nieces and nephews. A funeral service will be held at 10am on Wednesday, November 18, 2015 at Flynn Bros. Inc. Funeral Home, 13 Gates Ave., Schuylerville with Rev. Martin Fisher, officiating. Burial will follow at 11am in the Gerald B.H. Solomon Saratoga National Cemetery, Schuylerville. Friends may call on Tuesday from 5-7 pm at the funeral home.
