Obituary of Elizabeth J. Corsetti

Elizabeth J. (Betty, Aunt Betty, or Aunt Bett) Corsetti, 88, a resident of 56 Saratoga Street, died Thursday, April 14 at the Saratoga Hospital. Born March 21, 1928 in Schuylerville, she was the daughter of the late Guy and Mary Nerone Corsetti. Betty was an avid reader and was the family historian. If you wanted to know family history just ask Betty. She loved life, people, and a good party. Those were only exceeded by her love of faith, her very large family and her community. For many years Betty commuted to Glens Falls where she worked for Prudential Insurance Company. When she retired from there, she worked for The Schuylerville Insurance. Agency and later Wise Insurance Agency. She enjoyed, knitting and crocheting, and also going on trips. She was a member of the Ecumenical Bible Study Group, Notre Dame- Visitation Prayer Shawl Ministry and a communicant of Notre Dame-Visitation Church in Schuylerville. Betty supported many charitable organizations helped many community friends. She assisted her sister, Teresa, who ran Stewart’s store and her brother, Joe, with his liquor store, and caring for her mother for many years at home. In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by her sisters, Laura Sciurba and Teresa Corsetti, and brothers, Anthony, Alfred, Joseph, Guy, and Richard Corsetti. Survivors are her brother James (Sandra) Corsetti of Newburgh, NY; and many nieces and nephews and their spouses, grand nieces, grand nephews, and cousins. A funeral mass will be celebrated at 10am Monday, April 18, 2016 at Notre Dame-Visitation Church in Schuylerville with the Rev. Martin Fisher, officiating. Interment for her and for her sister, Teresa who died on February 24, 2016 will follow in Notre Dame Cemetery. There will be no calling hours.
