Obituary of John N. Becker Sr.
John N. Becker, Sr. 73, a resident of Salem passed away Sunday, June 12, 2016 at St. Peter’s Hospital after a courageous battle with cancer.
Born March, 28, 1943 in Albany NY, he was the son of the late Ted and Mabel (Norton) Becker
John had many years of schooling and training as a mechanic and worked in the family business at Becker’s Garage in Greenwich. He worked his way up in the Army National Guard retiring as a staff sergeant. John enjoyed fishing, antiquing, and attending various flea markets and tag sales.
In addition to his parents he was predeceased by his wife Ann L. Becker.
Survivors include his children; Tina (Dave) Monell of SC, Brian (Kimberly) Becker of NY, James (Angela) Becker of NC, Christopher Becker of VA, John Becker Jr. of FL, and Elizabeth Becker of Greenwich; grandchildren Lynsey, Nikki, Danielle, Kristina, Bryce, Kiera, Logan, and Morgan; special friend Penny Hempel of Salem.
A funeral service will be held at 1pm, Wednesday, June 15, 2016 at Flynn Bros. Inc. Funeral Home, 80 Main St, Greenwich, NY, 12834 with the Rev. Debbie Earthrowl officiating.
Family and friends may call from 12-1 prior to the service, burial will immediately follow with military honors in the Greenwich Cemetery.
