Obituary of Joseph Riccio

Joseph Riccio, 90, a former resident of Middle Falls, died Tuesday July 20, 2010 at the Pleasant Valley Nursing Facility in Argyle following a long illness. Born September 5, 1919 in Greenwich, he was the son of Sante and Loretta (Coluci) Riccio. Mr. Riccio was a member of the Middle Falls Fire Department and had been an employee of the Village of Greenwich DPW. In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by a sister, Josephine Starteri and a brother, Michael Riccio. Surviving are two sisters,Mary E. Jones and Laura Henstenberg, both of Saratoga Springs; and several nieces and nephews. A Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 1pm Friday, July 23, 2010 at St. Joseph’s Church, Greenwich, with Rev. Martin Fisher, officiating. The Rite of Committal will follow at St. Joseph’s Cemetery, Greenwich. Friends may call on Thursday from 4 - 6pm at Flynn Bros., Inc. Funeral Home, 80 Main St., Greenwich. Memorials in his name may be made to the Middle Falls Fire Dept. The family expresses their deep gratitude to the nursing staff of Pleasant Valley for their years of kind and loving care.
