Obituary of Keith W. Vance

Keith W. Vance, 54, a resident of Jewell Rd. passed away suddenly Tuesday, December 13, 2016 doing what he loved best, with his boys by his side. Born January 24, 1962 in Glens Falls, NY he was the son of Wayne and Sandra Vance of Gansevoort. Keith retired from Washington Correctional Facility where he worked as a Corrections Officer for 25 years. He was currently employed at the Town of Moreau Recreational Park. He was a life member of Gansevoort Fire Department, and was an avid hunter and outdoorsman. In addition to his mother Sandy, he was predeceased by his grandparents, Milton and Marie Post, Albert "Bud" and Dorothy Vance, his grandparents-in-law Alexander "Ike" and Lena Adamson, and John and Florence Kelly; his uncles Gary Vance and Albert "John" (Pat) Vance; and aunt Lorraine Post Smith. Survivors include his loving wife and high school sweetheart of 36 years, Tammy Adamson Vance of Gansevoort; his 2 sons, Joshua (Erin) Vance and Jordan (Jennica) Vance all of Gansevoort; his only granddaughter and sidekick, Madeline Vance; his father Wayne (Maryann) Vance of Gansevoort; his brother, Kevin (Laurie) Vance of NC; mother and father-in-law Herbert and Mary Lois Adamson; uncle Harold (Betty) Vance; aunt Kathy Vandecar and Kathy Vance; as well as many other aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces, nephews, and close friends. A funeral service will be held at 1pm Saturday, December 17, 2016 at Flynn Bros. Inc. Funeral Home, 13 Gates Ave., Schuylerville. A reception will be held for family and friends immediately following the service at the Gansevoort Fire House. Friends may call on Saturday from 11am -1pm prior to the service at the funeral home.
