Obituary of Betty M. Drew

Betty M. Drew, 77, a resident of Herkimer St., passed away Saturday, December 17, 2016 at Saratoga Hospital after a brief illness. Born February 28, 1939 in Saratoga Springs, she was the daughter of the late Vernon Eveland and Mary Eveland Wetherington. Betty was proud of her time working at the former Country Gentleman Restaurant in Saratoga Springs, where she worked from their opening until closing. She went on to Hostess at the Sheraton and Ramada Inn in Saratoga Springs and later was the main cook at Giaconni's Deli. For the past 3 years she has enjoyed babysitting for her great grandchildren. Spending time with her family was most important to her. In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by her husband, Joseph H. Drew Jr.; brothers, Vernon, Frederick, Arthur, and Herbert Eveland; and sisters, Minnie Wright Corlew and Bonnie Wright. Survivors include her 2 sons, Joseph H. Drew III of Victory Mills and William Drew of Cambridge; 2 granddaughters, Kristen and Aimee Drew; 4 great grandchildren, Riley, Mackenzye, Peyton, and Evan; 2 brothers, Joseph Eveland and Raymond Wetherington; 1 sister, Elizabeth Knowlton; many nieces, nephews and special friends. A funeral service will be held at 11am Wednesday, December 21, 2016 at Flynn Bros. Inc. Funeral Home, 13 Gates Ave., Schuylerville. Spring burial will be in Notre Dame Cemetery. Friends may call from 10-11am Wednesday prior to the service. Memorials can be made in Betty's name to the Victory Mills Fire Dept.
