Ingeborg Muller

Obituary of Ingeborg B. Muller

Ingeborg Käthe Luise Bär Muller of Saratoga Springs, New York peacefully passed on Wednesday, January 11, 2017 at the age of 97. Born in Erfürt, Germany on November 16, 1919, she immigrated to the United States in 1936. She married Paul Adrian Muller in Queens, New York on May 19, 1944 where they lived and ran a delicatessen until about 1976, when they relocated to the Saratoga Springs area. In her youth, Inge was an avid swimmer and an aspiring German Olympian. Her friends nicknamed her Teddy due to her last name, pronounced bear. This memory always made her smile. She was known for her playful spirit and her cooking. Once located in Saratoga Springs, she worked as a prep-cook for the former Lillian's Restaurant. Later, she opened a delicatessen and general store known as the Blue Spruce, which she ran with her husband (Paul), Daughter (Karen) and Son-in-Law (Skip). There she prepared her famous salads, remembered by many locally to this day. She also enjoyed knitting, bowling, and spending time with her family. Inge was a member of St. Paul's Evangelical Lutheran Church. While she was able to be active in the church, she served as a member of the choir and volunteered her time with the Altar Guild. She made many friends at St. Paul's and treasured their companionship following the passing of her husband. Inge's quiet spirit and loving nature will be cherished by her children: Kenneth Muller (Carolyn), Karen Winslow, and Joyce Jenison (William), by her grandchildren: Joanne McDermott (Gregory), Frank Litterer (Cheryl), Daniel Muller, James Muller (Monique), Jeffrey Schaeffer (Kari), Matthew Jenison, and Jennifer Jenison, and by her great-grandchildren: Gregory McDermott, II, Hunter McDermott, Hailey Litterer, Annika Muller, Caitlin Schaeffer, and Cambria Schaeffer. Inge was predeceased by her husband of 49-years, Paul Muller, her daughter-in-law, Margaret Muller, and her sons-in-law, Bruce Schaeffer and Chester Winslow. A celebration of Inge's life will be shared by friends and family at Flynn Bros., Inc. Funeral Home, 13 Gates Avenue, Schuylerville, New York on Friday, January 20, 2017 at 4pm. Services are graciously being officiated by Pastor Adam Wiegand of St. Paul's Evangelical Lutheran Church.
