Obituary of Robert G. Dennison

Robert G.”Dugan” Dennison, 82, a former resident of Victory Mills, died Tuesday, August 17, 2010 at Wesley Health Care Center in Saratoga Springs. Born July 26, 1928 in Victory Mills, NY he was the son of the late Andrew and Mildred (Gordon) Dennison. Mr. Dennison attended Schuylerville Central School and LaSalle Institute. He enlisted in the US Navy and was a veteran of WWII serving on the USS New York and USS Springfield. He worked in construction for many years and was a member of Local #157 in Troy. He was also a member of Old Saratoga Post #278 American Legion in Schuylerville. He was an avid NY Yankee and NY Giant fan. In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by his brother, William Dennison, and his longtime companion, Avis Stewart of Saratoga Springs. Survivors include 2 sons, Mark (Leslie) Dennison and Keith (Lurana) Dennison, all of Victory Mills; 2 granddaughters, Danielle and Lauren Dennison; his former wife, Nancy R. Dennison of Schuylerville; and 3 nephews. A funeral mass will be celebrated at 10am Thursday, August 26, 2010 at Notre Dame-Visitation Church with Rev. Martin Fisher, officiating. Burial will follow at 11am at the Gerald B.H. Solomon Saratoga National Cemetery. There will be no calling hours. Memorials can be made in his memory to the Old Saratoga Post #278 American Legion. The family would like to thank the staff at Wesley Health Care Center for the special attention given to Robert while he was a resident there.
