Obituary of Eloise Geruso

Eloise Geruso, 98, a longtime resident of Green St. in Schuylerville, passed away on December 25, 2017 at Schuyler Ridge in Clifton Park.

 

Born November 9, 1919 in Corinth, NY she was the daughter of the late Edwin and Frances Guiles Cudney.  Eloise grew up in Corinth and was a graduate of Corinth High School.

 

Mrs. Geruso was a member of the Schuylerville United Methodist Church, the Schuylerville Garden Club, Old Saratoga Seniors, Rug Hooking Club and Knitting Club.  She loved caring for her houseplants and two large gardens surrounding her home of 65 years on Green St.  She loved to bake and was known for her delicious pies.  When not gardening, you would find her sewing.  She taught both her daughters to be seamstresses.  She was also an avid reader and loved going to the library.

 

In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by her husband, Mayor Pasco A. Geruso Jr. in 1987; and her brother, Dudley Cudney and his wife Madeline

 

Survivors include 2 daughters, Mary (Dr. Roland T.) Phillips of Ballston Spa and Patricia (late Jeff) Still of Canastota, NY; son Frank (Diane Bradley) Geruso of Nicholson, GA, 6 grandchildren and 7 great grandchildren; several nieces, nephews, and with the age of ancestry.com, she has thousands of cousins all over the world with roots in England, Ireland, and Scotland.

 

A funeral service will be held at 11 am Tuesday, January 9, 2018 at the Schuylerville United Methodist Church, 51 Church St., Schuylerville, with Pastor Ben Lalka, officiating.  Spring burial will be in St. Mary’s Cemetery, Schuylerville.

 

Friends may call on Tuesday from 10:30-11 am prior to the service at the church.  All are welcome to join the family for lunch in the church hall following the service.
