Obituary of Elsie Lois Roberts

Elsie Lois Roberts, 94, a lifelong resident of the Town of Easton, passed away Tuesday, January 16, 2018 at Saratoga Hospital after a short illness. Born May 15, 1923 in Easton, she was the daughter of the late Waldo and Mabel Orr Booth. Elsie worked for many years as an accountant at Stevens and Thompson Mill. She helped her husband, Herbert Roberts, start the Easton Greenwich Rescue Squad. She enjoyed spending Saturdays going on short trips with her sisters Mary and Ruth. She was a great mother and grandmother. In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by her husband, Herbert E. Roberts in 2007; and siblings, Clarence Booth, Richard Booth, Elwaine Booth, Ruth Pratt, Sylvia Bradt, Mary Golden, and Eleanor Wood. Survivors include her daughter, Kathy (Christopher) Hall of Greenwich; son, Robin Roberts of Greenwich; 1 sister, Mabel Nevins; 7 grandchildren, Chris Gillis, Donna Gray, Rachel Hall, Katrina Hall, Sean Hall, Sara Hall, Onnex Hall; 1 great grandson, Logan Gray; 1 great granddaughter, Avalia Gillis; her close friend and caregiver, Penny Lavin; and several nieces and nephews. A graveside service will be held for both Elsie and Herbert at 12noon Friday, January 19, 2018 at the Gerald BH Solomon Saratoga National Cemetery, Schuylerville, with Rev. Debbie Earthrowl, officiating. There will be no calling hours. Memorials can be made in her memory to the Easton Greenwich Rescue Squad, PO Box 84, Greenwich, NY 12834.
