Arlene J. Loomis Obituary (1935 - 2010)

Arlene Loomis, 74, a resident of Broad Street, Schuylerville passed away Sunday, January 17, 2010 at the Saratoga Hospital after a brief illness, surrounded by her loving family. Born November 16, 1935 in Thomson, she was the daughter of James Brockway, Sr. and Eunice Flanders Brockway. Arlene was the sixteenth of eighteen children. In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by her husband, Lester Loomis, Sr., brothers, Roy, William, Edward, James Jr., and Lewis Brockway; sisters, Phyllis Barber, Lois Woodward, Margaret Sanders, Madeline Salls, and Ethel Loomis. Survivors include her daughter, Alicia OâDonnell of Schuylerville; sons, Edward Lewandowski of Ballston Spa, James Olson of Saratoga Springs, Robert Loomis of Victory Mills, Lester Loomis, Jr. of Saratoga Springs; brothers, Raymond Brockway of Fort Miller, John Brockway of Florida, and Mark Brockway of Argyle; sisters, Beverly Brousseau of Waterbury, CT., Joan Provost of So. Glens Falls, Linda Fish of Fort Miller, and Flora King of Waterbury, CT.; her companion, Thomas King; 10 grandchildren, 9 great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. A funeral service will be conducted at 6 pm Wednesday, January 20, 2010 at Flynn Bros., Inc. Funeral Home, 13 Gates Ave. Schuylerville with the Rev. Virginia Cornell officiating Friends may call from 4 to 6 pm Wednesday prior to the service. Spring Interment will be in the Victory Mills Cemetery. The family suggests memorials in her name be made to the General Schuyler Emergency Squad, PO Box 111, Schuylerville, NY 12871.
