Brian John Ward

Brian John Ward of Schuylerville, NY, passed away the morning of December 5, 2025, after a courageous battle with sarcoma. Born on April 4, 1954, in Troy, NY, he was the son of John and Noreen (Brooks) Ward.

Brian graduated from Stillwater Central School before continuing his education at Hudson Valley Community College and SUNY Geneseo. Following graduation, he built a remarkable career as a specialist in silicone chemistry. His work took him up and down the East Coast, earning multiple patents over the years.

While Brian excelled professionally, he was equally gifted at home. A true jack-of-all-trades, he shared his father’s talent for fixing just about anything. Wherever life took him, Brian found ways to volunteer and contribute to his community.

Above all, Brian loved his family. He is survived by his devoted wife, Diane, of Schuylerville, NY; his brother, Kent Ward (Rachel Reynold) of Machias, ME; and his children: Angela Ward of Latham, NY, Brandie Ward of Fort Edward, NY, Charity Chipps (Eric) of Lone Tree, CO, and Dewey Ward (Angela) of Severna Park, MD. He was the beloved grandfather of Evan and Beckett Maslanka, and Jonathan, Nathaniel, Benjamin, and Ellianna Ward. He is also survived by many cherished cousins, nieces, and nephews.

Special thanks are extended to the many friends and family who shared good times, support, and treasured memories with Brian throughout his life. The family would also like to thank the dedicated staff at the CR Wood Cancer Center, Sunnyview and Community Hospice, all of whom provided compassionate care that went above and beyond.

A memorial service will be held at Risen Hope Community Church, 6 Burgoyne St, in Schuylerville, NY on Saturday, December 27, 2025, at 3:00pm.
