Capitola C. Peters Obituary (1920 - 2010)

Capitola C. Peters, 90, of Fort Miller Rd., died Thursday, September 30, 2010 at Saratoga Hospital. Born January 6, 1920 in Croghan, NY she was the daughter of the late Carl and Elizabeth Bellinger DeRush Sr. Mrs. Peters had worked for Mallinckrodt in Argyle for many years. She loved to do crafts and enjoyed spending time with her family. In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by her husband Lester Peters in 1997; 2 sisters, Helen Signor and Bethabelle Fifield; and 2 brothers, Harold DeRush and Carl DeRush Jr. Survivors include 2 sons, Philip (Sandy) Peters of Greenwich and Duane (Tracy) Peters of Dalzell, SC; 2 daughters, Sandra McLenithan (George Almond) of Lake Panasoffkee, FL, and Sharon (Don) Blakeman of El Paso, TX; several grandchildren, great grandchildren, nieces and nephews. A funeral service will be held at 10am Monday, October 4, 2010 at Flynn Bros. Inc. Funeral Home, 13 Gates Ave., Schuylerville with her grandson, Rev. Shane Dickinson, officiating. Burial will follow in the Gansevoort Cemetery. Friends may call on Sunday from 4-6pm at the funeral home. Memorials may be made in her memory to the Wesleyan Church, 1063 State Route 4, Fort Edward, NY 12828. There will be a reception for family and friends following the burial on Monday at the Wesleyan Church in Fort Miller.
