Charlene Durham

It is with profound respect and heartfelt admiration that we remember the life of Charlene M. Durham, born on June 10th, 1945, in Cambridge, NY. Charlene passed away peacefully on Monday, August 10, 2026, at the Home of The Good Shepard, in Gansevoort.

Charlene made a significant mark in several careers throughout her life. After teaching high school English in Connecticut for several years, she transitioned into the airline industry, working as a reservation clerk for American Airlines and later at a travel agency. Charlene's passion for knowledge and the written word eventually led her to the Round Lake Library, where she ended her career as a librarian clerk. Charlene's most cherished accomplishment was the love and companionship she shared with her life partner, Larry Forneris. Their shared love for garage sales, estate sales, and attending the theater cemented their bond, creating memories that will live on forever.

Apart from her career, Charlene loved traveling. From the quaint towns of Cape Cod to the historical streets of England and France, and the breathtaking Rockies, she had a penchant for exploring new places and cultures. Her love for her community was evident in her volunteering at the Treasures Consignment Store in Saratoga Springs, which donates all profits to local charities. She resided in Saratoga Springs for 40 years and considered it her forever home.

Charlene's vibrant spirit will be profoundly missed by her life partner, Larry Forneris.

She is preceded in death by her father, Charles Durham, and her mother, Mildred Galusha.

Charlene will be laid to rest in the Greenwich Cemetery on Thursday, August 20, 2026 at 1 pm.
