Schuylerville, New York
We gather to remember the extraordinary life of Christina Ann Derby, 75, a woman whose presence was as captivating as her spirit. She was born on the 28th of May 1951 in Glens Falls, NY, to the late Roscoe and Alice (Murray) Jackson.
Christina lived a life full of love, laughter, and dance, her favorite pastime. She passed on October 3, 2026, at Glens Falls Hospital, leaving behind a legacy that will be cherished by all who were fortunate enough to know her. Christina never failed to make those around her feel loved and special.
Christina was a devoted wife to Henry Ebert Derby for over 50 years, a loving mother, doting grandmother, and great grandmother. Her life's work was her family, always ensuring they were taken care of, loved, and nurtured. Her home was always filled with the sounds of oldies and country music, the genres she loved the most. Christina had a special fondness for dining out, finding pleasure and solace in the experience. She found joy in the simple things, and she believed, "A good meal is an escape from the world."
Christina had a unique fondness for cardinals, collecting them throughout her life. She held dear the belief, "when a cardinal appears, a loved one is near." Despite her stubbornness and the volume of her voice, Christina had an enormous heart, open to everyone. Her warmth and generosity of spirit made her a cherished figure in the community.
In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by her siblings, Sharon Blackbird, Rocky Jackson, and Bernie Jackson.
She is survived by her loving husband, Henry Ebert Derby; her loving children, Henry (Alicia) Jason Derby, and Karin (Phil) Ohly; grandchildren, Alicia (Matt) Coffey, Megan Nichols, Shaylee (Asher) Nelligan, Sydney Derby, and Chelsey Derby; great-grand-daughter, Lorna Coffey
