Diane Lynn Varney Jennings Obituary (1951 - 2025)

Diane Lynn Varney Jennings, 73, a resident of Windy Hill Rd., passed away peacefully at home on Thursday, February 27, 2025 surrounded by her family. Born October 12, 1951 in Cambridge, NY she was the daughter of the late Richard and Dorothy Forbes Varney Sr. Diane was a graduate of Schuylerville Central School Class of 1969. She was a devoted wife and mother and enjoyed spending time with her family, her trips to Maine, and spending time with her granddaughter, Molly. She helped build her house with the 8 ft pool and pavilion where she enjoyed baking, gardening, and planting her spring flowers. She was a member of the Old Saratoga Post #278 American Legion Auxiliary and was an avid fan of the Adirondack Red Wings and was famous among the officials for her giant Rum Chocolate Chip Cookies. In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by 3 brothers, David, Dick, and Doug Varney. Survivors include her husband of 54 ½ years, Joseph Jennings of Greenwich; sons, Mike Jennings of Greenwich and Mark (Susan) Jennings of Warren, Maine; daughter, Michele Jennings of Schuylerville; stepdaughter, Amy (Brian) Quintana of Grand Junction, Colorado; her granddaughter, Molly Jennings of Warren, Maine; brother, Dale (Debbie) Varney of Salem; sister-in-law, Dee Varney of Greenwich; as well as many nieces, nephews, and cousins. A graveside service will be held in the spring in the Bacon Hill Cemetery. Memorials can be made in her name to an animal rescue of choice.
