Gerene Pincher Obituary (1947 - 2025)

Gerene “Gerry” Whitaker Pincher, 77, a resident of Brunswick, passed away peacefully surrounded by her family, after a brief illness, on Saturday, May 31, 2025, at St. Peter’s Hospital in Albany. Gerry was born on August 21, 1947, in Cambridge, NY and was the daughter of the late Gordon O. Whitaker, Jr. and Jane Chambers Whitaker. She is survived by her brothers; David (Marcia) Whitaker of Hurricane, Utah, Andy (Maureen) Whitaker of Easton, NY; nephews, Seth (Erica) Whitaker of Northglenn, Co., Tyler Whitaker of Redding, CA., Alex (Zhaleh) Whitaker of Easton, NY and grandnephew, Zayden Whitaker of Easton, NY. Gerene adored all her nephews. Gerry was a 1965 alumna of Greenwich High School and a graduate of Katherine Gibbs College in Boston. After graduation she worked for a year in Boston and then returned to work at Knolls Atomic Power Laboratory in Niskayuna. She then worked for 47 years as an Executive Assistant to the President of KPMG in Albany. After her retirement Gerry took up art, creating beautiful oil and watercolor paintings. She was an avid reader and collector of antiques. She loved spending summer days at the family camp on Cossayuna Lake. Gerry was a wonderful person with a soft kindness and gentle heart. She will be greatly missed. There will be no calling hours and graveside services will be held this summer at the family’s discretion.
