Larry Byrd

We are sad to announce the passing of Larry Byrd, on December 11, 2024. Larry was born to the late Thomas Jones and Francine Byrd in New Rochelle, New York on June 27, 1958.

Larry resided many places since his childhood, with his final home being the Schuylerville IRA, where he has resided since 2022. Larry was a playful soul in his younger years, always keeping staff on their toes. He enjoyed the thrill of sneaking a quick bite or drink, when the opportunity arose, versus being offered.

Larry loved going out and about, one of his favorite places being Dunkin Donuts. Larry became legally blind later in his life, but always enjoyed knowing others were around him and that he was a part of events and activities. He found comfort in holding hands with some of his peers at the house, which he would do while relaxing in the living room.

Larry is survived by his family and friends at the Schuylerville IRA and Schuylerville Day Hab, along with his friend and advocate since 1994, Leslie Fuld. Larry’s friends, family and staff are planning to honor his life with a graveside service, on Monday, December 16, 2024, at 11 am at Greenwich Cemetery, County Rd 52, Greenwich, NY.

Friends may gather for a celebration of Larry’s life, at the Schuylerville IRA, 21 Spring St, Schuylerville, NY, 12871, immediately following his burial.

We invite you to share your memories of Larry on his memorial page at www.flynnbrosinc.com.
