Lena R. Weatherwax Obituary (1925

Lena R. Weatherwax, 84, a former Greenwich resident, passed away Wednesday, March 03, 2010 at the Wesley Health Care Facility in Saratoga Springs. Born September 30, 1925 in Fort Miller, she was the daughter of Earl and Lorena Yandow Sanders, Sr. Lena was a member of St. Paulâs Episcopal Church in Greenwich and was a former member of the Easton Greenwich Rescue Squad. In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by her husband, Grover Weatherwax Sr. and brothers Robert, Earl, and Joseph Sanders. Survivors are her children, Grover (Lorraine) Weatherwax, Jr. of Bald Mountain, Timothy Weatherwax of Greenwich, James Weatherwax ( Mark Abbott) of San Antonio, Texas, Eileen Schubert of Clifton Park, Barbara (Grant) VanAvery of Argyle, Jane(Charles)Wood of Greenwich, and Tami (Michael) Morency of Argyle; a brother, James Sanders of Argyle; sisters, Elizabeth Humiston and Rita Booth of Greenwich, and Jane Sanders of Argyle; 14 grandchildren Heidi, Melissa, Marsha, Neil, Michele, Kristina, Kelly, Stacey, Heather, Jamie, Erica, Samantha, Alexandra, and Michael; 5 great grandchildren, Nicholas, Avery, Gabriel, Jacob, Mallory, and Lacey; and several nieces and nephews. Family may call from 2-3pm Friday, March 5, 2010 at Flynn Bros. Inc. Funeral Home, 80 Main Street, Greenwich, NY. A funeral service will follow at 3pm with Rev. Allen Peyton, officiating. Spring interment will be in the Greenwich Cemetery. The family suggests memorials in her name be made to the Easton Greenwich Rescue Squad.
