Michele Morrison

Michele Marie Morrison (Saunders), 59, of Schuylerville, NY passed away peacefully on August 24, 2026.

Michele was born on April 10,1967, in Troy, NY, daughter of the late Patricia and Robert Saunders and raised by her stepfather Don Roberts. At age 17, she moved to Schuylerville where she put down roots for the rest of her life.

She had a nearly 30-year career at State Farm, and was known for her unwavering focus on doing things the right way. She taught us what tireless hard work and sacrifice looked like each and every day.

Michele was a devoted mother, raising two daughters, and a grandmother to two grandchildren that she cherished. She filled their lives with traditions, made holidays and everyday moments special and left them with incredible memories that they will treasure for the rest of their lives.

Michele enjoyed traveling, visiting lighthouses, music of all kinds and spending time at the beach every summer with her family. She was in a constant pursuit of knowledge whether through the books she was always reading, true crime podcasts she loved or trying out new classes like tai chi, guitar and Spanish language. She was also a fierce political advocate - fighting for justice and kindness above all else.

Though she would never call herself one, she was an artist in her own right - focusing most recently on stained glass. Her magic came particularly alive in the garden and the kitchen. Every Spring and Summer she filled her garden with every color possible, favoring zinnias, sunflowers and petunias to name a few. Every Fall and Winter, she was busy in the kitchen, making her famous pumpkin pie and stuffing for Thanksgiving and dozens of cookies for Christmas. She was also a member of Schuylerville Library’s Cookbook club, always up to try a new recipe and gather around to share a meal.

Michele was generous, loving and kind and leaves that legacy behind with her daughters Lindsey McCarty (David McCarty) and Alexandria Morrison (Ludjero Lopes); sister Maureen Saunders (Steven Sarro); step-father Don Roberts; former husband of 25 years and father of her children Allan Morrison; grandchildren Colton McCarty and Hadley McCarty; partner of many years Richard Calo; nephews Sean Saunders, Ryan Sarro, Jacob Saunders, Zachary Saunders, and Max Pagan; nieces Danielle Saunders and Samantha Saunders.

Calling hours will be held at Flynn Bros. Funeral Home 13 Gates Ave. Schuylerville, NY on Monday, August 31st from 5-7pm. A Celebration of Life will be held in the fall.

In lieu of flowers, resist fascism and spread kindness. Donations may be made in Michele’s name to the Innocence Project, a cause she held close to her heart.
