Robert F. “Bob” Hall, 91, of Saratoga Springs, passed away peacefully on August 5, 2026, at his Saratoga Lake home that he proudly built for his family. Born in Saratoga Springs in 1935, to the parents of Martha (Weibel) and Frank Hall, Bob began his education in a one-room schoolhouse before graduating from Saratoga Springs High School.
Bob spent his career as a Superintendent with J.H. Maloy Construction Co. He took great pride in his work and was known for his strong work ethic, knowledge, and dedication to doing things the right way. He was a proud and active member of the Quaker Springs Fire Department and the Schuylerville Lions Club. He was also a beloved fixture at Bacon Hill Reformed Church, where he could often be found cooking chickens, peeling squash, or helping wherever he was needed. Bob’s commitment to public service began when he was elected to the Town of Saratoga Board, where he served as a Councilman for many years. He later had the honor of succeeding his friend and predecessor, Robert Hathaway, as Town Supervisor.
Through his service on the Saratoga County Board of Supervisors, he was elected Chairman of the Board in 2002. When Bob wasn’t at a job site or on a tractor in the fields, he enjoyed spending time with his Polled Hereford cattle, which he proudly showed at fairs throughout the region, including The Big E. Showing cattle was Bob’s idea of a vacation. He shared that love with his children and grandchildren over many years in the show ring and created countless family memories along the way. He also served for many years on the Saratoga County Fair Board. After retirement, Bob discovered a love for baking. He enjoyed making cookies and treats for his family, friends, and anyone lucky enough to receive them. Sharing what he made brought him great joy and was just another example of his generous spirit.
Bob rarely sat still. Whether he was working, farming, helping a neighbor, or spending time with his faithful yellow Lab companion, Buddy, he was happiest when he had something to do. After the loss of his first wife, Ann Karrau Hall, Bob devoted himself to raising their three young children. In 1968, he married Margaret L. (Pett) Hall, and together they shared 58 years of marriage, building a family centered around love, hard work, and being there for one another.
Bob was predeceased by his first wife, Ann Karrau Hall; his son, Thomas Benjamin; and his brother, John Hall.
He is survived by his wife, Margaret L. (Pett) Hall; his two adoring sisters-in-law, Joan
Pett-Hughes and Carolyn Pett, and his children; Bob (Lisa) Hall, Mary Ann (Joe) Parisi, David (Pam) Hall, Lisa (Nicholas) Schwartz, and Christine (Ed) Conto.
He was the proud grandfather of Rae Hall, Kate (Ben) Hall, Megan (Mark) Davenport, Joseph (Nicole) Parisi, Timothy Parisi, Jennifer (Lou) Salway, Kimberly (John) Hall, Peter Schwartz, and Maggie Schwartz. He is also survived by many great-grandchildren, great-great-grandchildren, nieces, and nephews.
Bob will be remembered for his hard work, devotion to his family, and commitment to his
community. He was a man who showed up, lent a hand, and gave his time freely to others. His legacy lives on through his family, his community, and the many people who were fortunate enough to know him.
Special thanks to his caregiver, Ashley for her support and care, and always brightening his day with her smile.
