Timothy Earl Scrom

–

Stillwater, New York

Timothy Earl Scrom, 72, a beloved husband, father, grandfather, and stalwart community servant, passed away on September 10, 2026, at Westchester Medical Center, leaving a void not just in his family but also in the many lives he touched. He was born on March 28, 1954, in Schenectady, NY, to William Jerome and Carolyn (D'Agostino) Scrom.

Timothy's life was a testament to his deep-rooted love for his community of Stillwater, New York, where he resided, and a dedication to public service that saw him wear many hats with dignity and grace. He graduated from Shenandoah High School and went on to attend Paul Smith's College, where later in life he served on their party planning committee. He also served on the Stillwater School Board for several years.

An ardent Dallas Cowboys fan, Timothy's love for life was evident in his diverse interests. His passion for sports went beyond cheering for his favorite team, as he was also part of several Fantasy Football Leagues. A proud Republican, he was active in various local committees in Saratoga County and Stillwater. When he wasn't indulging in his fondness for bowling, fishing, or savoring his favorite foods - chicken wings and steak, Timothy was often found engaged in his favorite pastime of smoking and grilling meat, delighting everyone with his culinary skills.

Timothy's professional contributions were as remarkable as his personal attributes. As a dedicated Hydrologist and Observing Program Manager at the National Weather Service in Albany, his fascination with weather patterns, particularly tornado tracking, was well-known. Yet, his commitment to service found its most profound expression in his over four-decade-long association with Fire Service. He was a key member of the Arvin Hart Fire Company Station 1, having served in various roles including secretary and fire police. His leadership qualities shone through when he served as a past chief at the Clifton Park Fire Department and as a region 3 delegate for the VFPASNY Volunteer Fire Police Association.

Above all, Timothy's life was defined by his undeniable love for his family. He was a devoted husband to his wife, Rosanne (Colvin) Scrom; beloved father of, Tammi Anne (Mitchell) Beck, Tiffani Anne (Shane) Murray, and Traci Anne (Brant Cheramie) Scrom; and a doting grandfather to Avery, Sophia, Madison, Izabella, Elizabeth, and Mitchell Jr. Timothy was fondly known for spoiling his grandchildren at 'Grandpa's Daycare'. Timothy is also survived by his brother, Jeffrey (Michele) Scrom; his mother, Carolyn Scrom; several in-laws, and special friends, beloved dog DD and grand dogs Lucky, Koi, Tanker and CoCoa.

Timothy was preceded in death by his father William Scrom.
