Verner E. LaBarge Obituary (1918 - 2012)

Verner E. LaBarge, 94, a resident of Morganâs Run, died Friday, June 1, 2012 at Pleasant Valley Nursing Facility in Argyle. Born January 1, 1918 in Victory Mills, NY he was the son of the late Frederick and Diana (Periard) LaBarge. Verner was a US Army Veteran having served during WWII. He was a life member of Old Saratoga Post #278 American Legion in Schuylerville and was an Exempt member of the David Nevins Fire Department in Victory Mills. He was a founding member of the Fish Creek Rod & Gun Club, and retired from NYSDOT in 1979. He loved gardening and country rides. In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by several brothers and sisters. Survivors include 1 brother, Glen LaBarge of St. Johnsville, several nieces, nephews, and cousins. A committal service will be held at 2:30pm Thursday, June 7, 2012 at the Gerald B.H. Solomon Saratoga National Cemetery in Schuylerville with Rev. Martin Fisher, officiating.
