George William Cromie, 83, a resident of Deltona, Florida passed away unexpectedly Saturday, August 4, 2018.
Born April 11, 1935 in Victory Mills, NY he was the son of the late Roland and Angelia Hopkins Cromie.
George was a 1952 graduate of Schuylerville Central School. He worked for NYSDOT and Land Acquisition Department for many years. He was president for 6 years of the Engineers Association District 1. He was also president of the Homeowners Association for 3 years where he resided in Deltona, Florida. He was a model train enthusiast.
In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by his brother, Roland C. Cromie Jr.
Survivors include his wife of 62 ½ years, Margaret Maloney Cromie of Deltona, FL; 2 sons, John R. (Susan) Cromie and William N. (Tracy) Cromie; 1 daughter, Anastasia Cromie; his sister, Sheila Harper; 3 grandchildren, Jason, Jennifer and Megan; 3 great grandchildren, Alexis, Abigail, and Harrison.
A funeral service will be held at 1pm Monday, August 13, 2018 at Flynn Bros. Inc. Funeral Home, 13 Gates Ave., Schuylerville, NY with Rev. Joyce deVelder, officiating. Burial will follow in Prospect Hill Cemetery.
Friends may call from 11am to 1pm prior to the service on Monday.
