Thomas (Tom) Joseph Mulvihill Jr., 84, passed away peacefully on January 16, 2019 surrounded by family and friends.
Tom was born on January 16, 1935 in Schuylerville, NY. He lived his entire life in the family home on Gates Avenue Extension until 2016 when he moved to the Home of Good Shepherd in Saratoga Springs.
He is preceded in death by his parents, Thomas F. and Julia (Myers) Mulvihill; and 1 sister, Frances Mulvihill.
Tom was a US Army Veteran and worked 35 years for the NYS Department of Transportation as crew supervisor until his retirement in 1990 and later worked several years for NYRA in the maintenance department. Tom enjoyed gardening, going to the gym and was known for helping with yard work and chores for friends and neighbors. He especially enjoyed his time with his closest friends, John Bodnar and Mike Nolan.
He is survived by his sister, Mary Roberts of Saratoga Springs; four nieces, Kim (Wayne) Collins, Sheri (Robert) Williams, Kris (Raymond) Foote and Lori (John) Warmt; and several great nieces and nephews.
He also leaves the many caring and loving friends and staff at the Home of Good Shepherd in Saratoga Springs, whose care and compassion are greatly appreciated. The family wishes thank the entire staff at the Home of Good Shepherd in Saratoga Springs and Andrew and the staff of Community Hospice for their care and attentiveness.
A mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11am Saturday, January 19, 2019 at Notre Dame-Visitation Church in Schuylerville with Rev. Martin Fisher, officiating. Spring burial will be in St. Mary’s Cemetery.
There will be no calling hours.
