Obituary of Diane L. Dixson

Diane Lee Dixson, 53, of 2618 Route 113 in Easton passed peacefully from this world on February 1, 2011 at the Saratoga Hospital. She lost a long and very courageous fight against complications from brain surgery. Diane was born on October 13, 1957 in Glens Falls. She was one of ten children born to Leonard and Shirley Parker of Kingsbury. Her father predeceased her. Diane was a very outgoing person who made friends everywhere she went. She touched the hearts of many many people and she will be sorely missed. She worked on the family farm where she had many jobs but her favorite was raising calves. She always had a great fondness for baby animals. Her hobbies included gardening, canning, knitting, crocheting, cross stitch, picking wild berries, and doing crossword puzzles. She loved Christmas and collecting anything Santa Claus. She also loved to bake and cook and was very talented at planning and preparing meals. One of her most favorite things was taking long summer rides with her husband and stopping to buy ice cream. Diane’s greatest love was her children and grandchildren. Her love was always given without question or restraint and her family always felt protected and warmed within the glow of it. Her family was truly blessed to have known the love and care of this wonderful and generous woman. She was taken from us far too soon and she will be loved and missed forever. In addition to her mother, survivors include her loving husband of 34 years, Charlie; her two sons, Johnathon and and James. She also leaves behind her five grandchildren, Maximus, Hunter, MacKenzie, Lauren, and Sammy; two brothers, David (Linda) Parker and Dan Parker; sisters, Debbie Parker, Darlene Roblee, Dawn Donnelley, Deanna Stark, Denise Palmer, and Daphne Tripp; her daughter-in-law Nicole, sister-in-law Lucinda Ellis with whom she was close, as well as many friends she had made over the years. A gathering for family and friends will be held from 12:30 – 2:30pm on Saturday, February 5, 2011 at Flynn Bros. Inc. Funeral Home, 80 Main St., Greenwich. A graveside service will be held in the spring in the Greenwich Cemetery.
