Obituary of Lois Gray

Lois Gray, age unknown, but she admitted to being 65, passed away at her home surrounded by loving family and dear friends. Born August 12, 1919 in Nanticoke, PA, she was the daughter of the late Levi and Margaret Reichard. On August 22, 1944 Lois and Jack T. Gray were married and remained together until Jack’s death March 12, 2007. Lois was also predeceased by two half sisters, Kathryn Dietrick and Edna Stutzman. Lois was a former employee of the Corinth and Greenwich Central School cafeterias until her retirement in 1981. She enjoyed spending time with her family and traveled often to be with her children. She loved to cook and bake and had many and varied hobbies, many of which won her awards at the Washington County Fair. She won many 1st prizes and best of show awards for furniture restoration, oil paintings and for her afghans. Lois is survived by her son Dr. Peter Gray of Glens Falls, her daughter Cheryl and her son-in-law Robert Montanye of Cossayuna and Hobe Sound FL. Two grandsons; Geoffrey Richardson and his fiancée Kim of East Berne and Scott Richardson and his wife Trish of Middletown, CT and two great grandchildren; Ty and Trisa. Two nephews; Richard Dietrick and his wife Bonnie of Simpsonville, SC and James Dietrick and his wife Jackie of Boynton Beach, FL, also several grand nieces and nephews. Memorial services and burial will be private and at the convenience of the family. The family suggests that memorial contributions be made to the Rev. Jim “Van-Go” Project in Greenwich, NY. The family is honored to acknowledge its indebtedness to their adopted sisters Valerie Ingersoll, Meghan Gallagher and Miriama Patrick for the love and care they provided to Lois. The family would also like to thank the Washington County Health Dept., the Nursing and Medical staff at Glens Falls Hospital on T-6, 3E and ICU and Emergency Dept, and the Greenwich Health Center, the Pharmacists at Glens Falls Hospital out-patient dept., the Pharmacists at CVS Greenwich, Sally Schumaker St. Andrews, Bill Cutler and Pleasant Valley Infirmary. The family would also like to acknowledge Lois’ very special friends, Beverly Morehouse, Florence Pennock, Carol Fahey, The Coop Club of Greenwich, to whom she was affectionately known as “Rosedale” and many others who were a fond part of her life.
