Obituary of Charles "Cha" Wood Sr.

Charles D. “Cha” Wood, Sr., 66, a resident of Route 40, Town of Easton, died Friday, March 18, 2011 at the Saratoga Hospital. Born March 19, 1944 in Schuylerville, he was the son of Doric and Monica Johnson Wood, Sr. Cha had been employed for several years by the Department of Public Works in the Village of Victory. He had also owned and operated Wood’s Mobile Manor in Schuylerville. He loved his home and enjoyed the yard work that went with it.He loved animals and was an avid Yankee fan. His life revolved around his granddaughter Gabriel. In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by a sister, Francis Norton. Survivors include his wife, Jane L. Weatherwax Wood of Greenwich; 1 son, Charles D. (Peggy) Wood, Jr. of Schuylerville; 1 daughter, Erica (Richard) Chandler of Ft. Ann; 4 sisters, Mary Farrell of Schuylerville, Patricia (William) Joubert of Saratoga Springs, Barbara Iovino of Troy, and Marie Smith of Florida; 2 brothers, Doric (Joyce) Wood, Jr. of Corinth, and John Wood of Saratoga Springs; grandchildren, Sayara and Allshya Wood and Gabriel Chandler; great granddaughter, Mya Kouse; several nieces and nephews Friends may call 5-7pm Sunday, March 20, 2011 at Flynn Bros., Inc. Funeral Home, 13 Gates Ave., Schuylerville, NY. A graveside service will be conducted at the Greenwich Cemetery in the spring. The family suggests memorials in his name be made to Easton Greenwich Rescue Squad, PO Box 84, Greenwich, NY 12834.
