Obituary of Elva M. Arsenault

Elva M. Arsenault, 84, a resident of Pleasant Villa, died Monday, April 18, 2011 at Saratoga Hospital surrounded by her family. Born December 12, 1926 in St. Raphael, Prince Edward Island, Canada, she was the daughter of the late Toussaint and Marie Rose Gallant. Mrs. Arsenault was very active locally with Meals on Wheels, Extra Helpings, and the Second Hand Rose Thrift Shop. She was a communicant of Notre Dame-Visitation Church, was a member of the Ladies of St. Anne Rosary Society, and had been a Eucharistic Minister for many years. In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by her husband, Joseph Arsenault and 1 brother, Eloi Gallant. Survivors include 4 daughters, Thelma (James) Hack, Jeannette Martin, Leona (Whitney) Colvin, and Rose (Frank Smith) Arsenault; 3 sons, Henri (Shiela) Arsenault, Alfred Arsenault, and Paul (Sandra) Arsenault; 1 brother, Expedit Gallant; 4 sisters, Mary Gallant, Claudia Arsenault, Alfreda Poirier and Lucie MacDonald; 6 grandchildren, Judy Ahern, Derek Norton, Crystal Chastain, Sarah Ray, Brent and Kurt Arsenault; 8 great grandchildren, and several nieces and nephews. A funeral mass will be celebrated at 10am Thursday, April 21, 2011 at Notre Dame-Visitation Church with Rev. Martin Fisher, officiating. Burial will follow in Notre Dame Cemetery. Friends may call on Wednesday, April 20, 2011 from 4-7pm at Flynn Bros. Inc. Funeral Home, 13 Gates Ave., Schuylerville. Memorials can be made in her memory to Notre Dame-Visitation Church or the charity of one’s choice.
