Obituary of Kathryn "Kaye" Grolley

Kathryn “Kaye”. Grolley, 88, a resident of Burgoyne St., died Thursday, May 5, 2011 at her home surrounded by her family after long illness. Born February 13, 1923 in Victory Mills, she was the daughter of the late William and Ada Salls Farrell. Kaye had worked at Glove Factory in Schuylerville in the early 1940’s, was election inspector for the Village of Schuylerville for over 50 years, and was an avid NY Yankee and NY Giants fan. Her greatest joy in life was to be surrounded by her family. She was content as a homemaker, taking care of and feeding all who came through her door. She was a communicant of Notre Dame-Visitation Church and was a member of the St. Anne Rosary Society. In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by her husband, Anthony “Sheik” Grolley; 2 brothers, Frances and James Farrell and 1 sister, Marge Arpei. Survivors include her children, Gerald Grolley of Greenwich, Donna(Richard) Porlier, Dennis (Mary) Grolley, and Kathy (Bruce) Weils, all of Schuylerville; daughter-in-law Diane Grolley; 1 sister, Mary Natale of Saratoga Springs; 10 grandchildren, 13 great grandchildren, 6 great great grandchildren, and several nieces and nephews. A funeral mass will be celebrated at 10 am Monday, May 9, 2011 at Notre Dame-Visitation Church with Rev. Martin Fisher, officiating. Burial will follow in Notre Dame Cemetery. Friends may call on Sunday, May 8, 2011 from 3 to 6pm at Flynn Bros. Inc., Funeral Home, 13 Gates Ave., Schuylerville. The family would like to express special thanks to her caregiver and special friend of more than 40+ years, Susan Hughes. Memorials can be made in her memory to the General Schuyler Emergency Squad or Communtiy Hospice of Saratoga.
