Obituary of Rose Bloomquist

Rose Bloomquist entered heaven with her beloved angels on May 22, 2011 to join her parents, Lilly and John Cotter, and her youngest brother (Roy Cotter). She is survived by her husband of 42 years Dick Bloomquist of Greenwich NY, son Richard, of Queensbury NY, son Dan and his wife Rue of Burbank CA, daughter Kristy and her husband Mearron Malone and their children Nakiya, Malik, Arron, Gwen, Jenay and Deedee of Manassas VA, and her brother Liam Cotter and wife Jean of Branford CT. Besides her immediate family she also leaves many of her extended family including Aunt Dot Bloomquist from West Hartford CT., as well as many friends and countless others whose hearts she touched. Rose, born in Cork City, Ireland; moved to New Haven CT at the age of 6 with her family, and lived there for 20 years. Several years later she moved to Greenwich N.Y. to support her husband’s dream of them becoming Innkeepers, which they did in 1995, and spent 10 years making memories for all that visited The White Rose Inn. She also worked in many other capacities, excelling in all, and touching very many lives with her charitable nature and warm and loving personality, infectious laugh, and warm smile for all. She was very active in her church and community and her faith was her rock. Per Rose’s request there will be no calling hours. A memorial Mass will be held at St. Joseph’s Church, 36 Bleecker St., Greenwich NY on Friday May 27 2011 at 11.00 a.m. In lieu of flowers please send donations to the St. Joseph’s Church Building Fund. She will be dearly missed by all that knew and loved her and will always be in our hearts.
