Obituary of Margaret "Peg" Obie

Margaret “Peg” Obie, 91, a former resident of Schuylerville, died Tuesday, June 14, 2011 at the Whittier Nursing Home, in Ghent, NY. Born February 26, 1920 in West Point, VA, she was the daughter of the late Manual and Mary Gallant Arsenault. Mrs. Obie had worked at Mary McClellan Hospital in Cambridge and Saratoga Hospital in Saratoga Springs as a dietician for many years. She was a communicant of Notre Dame-Visitation Church in Schuylerville and a member of the St. Anne Rosary Society. In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by her husband, Russell Obie; and 3 sisters, Marie Boivin, Josephine Arsenault, and Theresa Canty. Survivors include her son, John (Sharon) Obie of Golden, CO; 4 daughters, Mary Saville of Glens Falls, Rebecca (Andrew) Palombo of Queensbury,Janice (Ron) Clausen of Gansevoort, and Carol Obie of Ghent; 9 grandchildren, 15 great grandchildren, and several nieces and nephews. A funeral mass will be celebrated at 9:30am Saturday, June 18, 2011 at Notre Dame-Visitation Church with Rev. Martin Fisher, officiating. Burial will follow in Notre Dame Cemetery.
