Obituary of Francis E. Blanchfield

Francis E. “Bud” Blanchfield, 82, a resident of Greenwich passed away Saturday June 18, 2011 at his home, with his two children at his side. He attended Greenwich High School and married Alma Duket in 1957. He was a butcher for over 50 years with A&P and IGA markets. If anyone wanted a good cut of meat, “Go see Buddy”. His passion was NASCAR racing which he loved going to with his buddies. He enjoyed the company of friends and family at any given time. Surviving is one daughter Barbara Blanchfield of Hartford, CT, and one son Ed Blanchfield and his wife Terri of Sugar Land, TX. Also surviving is one sister Jean Darfler of Greenwich. “Papa” adored his five grandchildren; Nicholas, Tyler, Erica, Logan and Connor all of Sugar Land, TX. A celebration of life will be held at 4PM Friday June 24, 2011 at Cynthia Meadows, 20 Woodlawn Ave., Greenwich. A friendly gathering will follow at 6PM at the Greenwich VFW. “Dad was blessed with a special Angel, his daughter Barb who cared for him through his illness to death.” Arrangements are under the direction of Flynn Bros., Inc.
