Obituary of Claudia S. Gilliland

Claudia S. Gilliland, 63, died unexpectedly Tuesday, Aug. 9, 2011 at her home on Mott Road. Born July 13, 1948 in Brooklyn, she had made her residence in Gansevoort for the past 28 years and attended Adirondack Community College. Her enjoyments in life included writing poetry and short stories, biking, hiking, swimming, traveling, and spending time with her family. Survivors are her husband, Ormen “Skip” Gilliland of Gansevoort; 2 sons, Nicholas (Michelle) Rossi of Douglas, MA and Michael Rossi of Albany; grandchildren, Anthony and Dominick Rossi; sister, Karen Steele of Staten Island; an aunt and several nieces and nephews. There will be no calling hours. Services and interment will be at the Gerald B.H. Solomon Saratoga National Cemetery in Schuylerville. Arrangements are under the direction of Flynn Bros., Inc. Funeral Home, 13 Gates Ave., Schuylerville, NY.
