Obituary of Gerald (Jerry) St. Clair

Gerald (Jerry) St. Clair, 88, a resident of Barber Ave., died Sunday, August 14, 2011 at Pleasant Valley Nursing Facility in Argyle. Born September 7, 1922 in Greenwich, he was the son of the late Morton and Florence (Nichols) St. Clair. Mr. St. Clair was a veteran of WWII and fought in the Battle of the Bulge. He was a life member of VFW Post #7291, a life member of American Legion Liberty Post #515, and a member of the Greenwich Senior Citizens. Jerry was a life member of Disabled American Veterans and received his Purple Heart December 2, 1944 at Coppell, France. He loved bowling and fishing. In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by his daughter and son-in-law, Karen and Charles Kerr. Surviving is his wife Helen St. Clair of Greenwich. A funeral service will be held at 12 noon Wednesday, August 17, 2011 at Flynn Bros. Inc. Funeral Home, 80 Main St., Greenwich with Rev. Sandra Spaulding, officiating. Interment will follow at the Gerald B. H. Solomon Saratoga National Cemetery in Schuylerville. Friends may call on Tuesday, August 16, 2011 from 3-5pm at the funeral home. The family would like to thank the staff at Pleasant Valley Nursing Facility, the Easton Greenwich Rescue Squad and the Argyle Rescue Squad for all their kindness. Donations in his name may be made to the Bottskill Baptist Church, Greenwich, NY.
