Obituary of Louis E. Fasoli

Louis Fasoli, 83, of Brookview Village, died at his home on Monday, September 05, 2011. Born October 5, 1927 in Granville, NY he was the son of the late Paul and Yula Ashley Fasoli. Mr. Fasoli attended Granville High School. He enlisted in the US Army and was a veteran of WWII and served during the occupation of Japan. He attended the Veterans Vocational School in Troy and worked for NYSEG starting as a lineman in 1950 until his retirement in 1987. He was a member of the American Legion in Greenwich. He married Loretta LeClair on March 21, 1955 in Mechanicville, NY where they made their home for 5 years. They had one daughter, Kathy Marie. The couple divorced in 1961. Louis married Lottie Bain in 1967 and they were married for 48 wonderful years, residing on Windy Hill Rd. in Greenwich, NY. They spent many good years traveling, and bird watching throughout the US. Louis was a loyal caregiver to all of his friends. He was an avid outdoor enthusiast enjoying golf at Windy Hill Golf Course in Greenwich. He was good friends with the owner, Karen. He also enjoyed fishing with all of his fishing buddies and was a member of the Sawyer Ridge Hunting Club in Harrisburg Lake. His favorite fishing sites included the Battenkill River, West Branch of the Ausable River, and Lake Lonely as well as various other spots. He also enjoyed hanging out at the River View Inn, locally known as Melba Mae’s and at B & D Bar and Grill in Mechanicville. In addition to his parents, and his wife Lottie; he was predeceased by brothers, Paul and Stewart Fasoli. Survivors include his daughter Kathy Daley of Greenfield Center and her son, Orin L. (Cheri) Thompson; grandchildren, Jacob and Taylor; sister, Gladys Swigert; brother, Leland Fasoli; several nieces, nephews, cousins, and Lottie’s children and grandchildren. A funeral service will be held at 11am, Tuesday, Sept.20, 2011 at Flynn Bros. Inc. Funeral Home, 13 Gates Ave., Schuylerville. Burial will follow at the Gerald B.H. Solomon Saratoga National Cemetery, Schuylerville. Friends may call on Tuesday from 10-11am prior to the service at the funeral home. Memorials can be made in his memory to Community Hospice of Saratoga, 179 Lawrence St., Saratoga Springs or Eddy Visiting Nurse Assoc., 2224 Burdett Ave., Troy, NY.
